Question
I know someone who was released from army basic training for a knee injury. He has been out for a couple of years and has been collecting disability for it for a couple of years. He is looking at re-joining the army and going to OCS seeing as how he has an associates degree now. His previous MOS was infantry and his hopeful MOS is admin. What are his chances of the army accepting him back after paying him disability for a couple of years

Peter,
First of all he needs a four-year Bachelor's Degree, not just a two-year Associate's Degree to enter OCS.

To determine his eligibility to re-join, he needs to look at his discharge paperwork, specifically the DD214 form.  At the bottom there is a Reenlistment Code that specifies whether or not he can reenlist.  Those codes are not releasable to the public but I can decode it for him.  Send me a follow-up with the RE- code and I can give you a better answer.
