Hello Matt,

not sure if you can help me with advice but I would appreciate any advice at this time.I would like to find some jobs within out base in Germany.I am looking for any information in regards of this,I am civilian NOT military so I am not sure how is this handled, can you try to tell me anything that may help me with this.
** what about the status in Germany?
** am I under US laws or under Germany?
** what happens if I work inside the base for US Military,do I get some papers for my status needed to stay in Germany?
** how long can I stay and if I decide after a while to work for German companies, can I do that ?

Thank you so much for any advice in this matter.

Answer
Hi Brad,

Judging from what you wrote, it would seem to me that you are currently employed in FL and want to move to Germany and work there -however you are not sure how to go about getting a job in Germany and want to know if working at the US Military Base will qualify you for entrance into the country and allow you to stay if you decide that you like it. With that said, I believe this is more of a question for both the US and German Immigration Agencies since you are not in the military. If you plan on moving to another country then I would imagine you would need a Visa or Green Card or something of that equivalent in order to stay there for any kind of long term basis. Sorry I couldn't have been more helpful Brad. Take care.
