Question
my boyfriend is 19 and new to the army.but he went AWOL about a month ago. my boyfriend just got arrested not just for going AWOL but for having 2 zap of weed on him but he is in jail here not in the army. my question is what going to happen to him is he going to be able to stay and finish the army or are they going to give him discharge. what if i join army and we get married will that give him a better chance instead of getting a discharge if not what can i do to help him him up for anything

Answer
Your boyfriend is in a huge amount of trouble.  He will be prosecuted for the marijuana possession, and then sent back to the Army where he will be prosecuted for going AWOL.. if it is more than a month he's a deserter and that is a federal felony conviction.  Then he'll be kicked out and not allowed to ever re-enlist and his chances of getting government jobs and benefits go to zero.  Your joining the Army will do nothing for his chances of getting through this. Sorry, but he will have to face this on his own and it's not going to be pleasant.

Expertise

I am currently an active duty Army Captain in the Military Police Field. I have been enlisted (Military Intelligence) and attended The United States Military Academy at West Point. I can answer questions related to the Army, posting, jobs, lifestyle, workings... pretty much anything you can throw at me with the exception of very specific recruting or medical questions. I have no expertise in what it takes to get in the military other than the fact that I, myself, joined at one point in time.

Experience

I have experience in both deployed and garrision environments as a Military Police Officer.

Education/Credentials
Bachelor of Science in Arabic and French from United States Military Academy at West Point.
