Question
my boyfriend tried to enlist in the army 1978 or 1980 he's not sure of the year. took some eye test with some ink blots etc. he coould only see ink blots they rejected him saying he was color blind he didn't know he had to register for selective service at the time. years went by he's worked in security for over 20 years no one said anything to him till I tried to enroll him in college. how do I find this record that the army disqualified him in 1978 or 1980. please help we are desperate. thankyou and god bless you all.

Answer
Sorry, but you're not going to like my answer.  Most likely, the Army didnt keep your boyfriend's record very long because he never actually entered the service. The best you can do is go ahead and contact the original enlistment place he tried and see what they say, but they're probably not going to have records dating back that far.  The best I can think of is that you should try to get a statement identifying his disqualifying feature as far back as you can and him to give the army his story and see what they say.. Sorry I couldnt be more help.

Expertise

I am currently an active duty Army Captain in the Military Police Field. I have been enlisted (Military Intelligence) and attended The United States Military Academy at West Point. I can answer questions related to the Army, posting, jobs, lifestyle, workings... pretty much anything you can throw at me with the exception of very specific recruting or medical questions. I have no expertise in what it takes to get in the military other than the fact that I, myself, joined at one point in time.

Experience

I have experience in both deployed and garrision environments as a Military Police Officer.

Education/Credentials
Bachelor of Science in Arabic and French from United States Military Academy at West Point.
