Question
Well this is a little difficult to understand but I have went through MEPS 2 times now, and this time we had to send some results from a PFT for asthma and it showed that i didn't have asthma but they also wanted some papers on when i did have it when i was like 9 or 10 years old. and we sent them up there, and now they have disapproved me for enlistment into the US Army because they say i have a breathing restriction, and i don't I can run 2 miles within 10 min. and no problems.  My recruiters said that if I can prove them wrong i may still have a chance but what other things can i do, Like i said before, i have already taken a Pulmonary Function Test, and what other test can i do to show them i have no problem with it now?  And if there isn't anything else would any other branch of the military take me then?  The military is all i want to do and I have tried college for about 3 years and can't get interested in anything i go for. So i hope you can help!!! Thanks
By the way i don't no if this will help but my age is 21 yrs old if that would help.

Answer
Try another branch of the service.  Once the Army says no go, its final, sounds like you did what you could, do another branch, but do not tell them you got denied a wiaver from another, just tell them you have a medical issue that needs waived.

waivers are rarely given nowadys becasue recruiting is going well, so you may have to wait until after October.

Expertise

I am a National Guard recruiter , been doing it for seven years and am a subject matter expert on qualifications for National Guard and I keep up to date on Regular Army regs and programs. I was in the Navy for 4 years and have 13 years in the Guard. I will not sugar coat my answers to you. They are usually short and to the point. If you need more in depth, ask me. Because each situation is different, alot of times you need to actually talk to a recruiter and let them evaluate your situation in person, by looking at your documents, issues etc. If I suggest this, it would be in your best interest to do so. Finally...thank you for your interest in serving this great nation of ours. Very few people can actually make the cut to serve let alone choose to do so. So thank you for wanting to and hopefully you will get a chance. Whatever branch you choose, thank you and good luck.
