Question
I am currently enlisted in the Army National Guard, and I was reading on the
Air Forces Special Investigations job for Officers.  The Army, and the National
Guard does not offer any such job for Officers, only Warrant officers.  I am
currently attending a University that offers an ROTC program for all
branches, and I was wondering if I would be able to join the Air Force ROTC
program to get into this job, or if I could only join the Army or Army National
Guard ROTC program if I wanted to go the route of officer.  I know there is a
regulation in the 635-200 that says an enlisted soldier can be honorably
separated in order to do ROTC (im a 27d - Paralegal specialist); however, I
wasn't sure if that meant I could only do an ROTC program within the branch
I was currently enlisted in.  Any answers would help.

Answer
You can join AF ROTC and not contract AF until you get discharged from the Guard.  If you get offered a scholarship from the AF, you can request a discharge to accept it.  Talk to your readiness NCo to find what oprions, or better yet, talk to the AF ROTC officer, who could better help you.

Expertise

I am a National Guard recruiter , been doing it for seven years and am a subject matter expert on qualifications for National Guard and I keep up to date on Regular Army regs and programs. I was in the Navy for 4 years and have 13 years in the Guard. I will not sugar coat my answers to you. They are usually short and to the point. If you need more in depth, ask me. Because each situation is different, alot of times you need to actually talk to a recruiter and let them evaluate your situation in person, by looking at your documents, issues etc. If I suggest this, it would be in your best interest to do so. Finally...thank you for your interest in serving this great nation of ours. Very few people can actually make the cut to serve let alone choose to do so. So thank you for wanting to and hopefully you will get a chance. Whatever branch you choose, thank you and good luck.
