Careers: Military--Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard/Marine Corps Officer Color Vision Policy

Question
Hello,

I would like to become a Marine Corps officer upon completion of my B.A. in Criminal Justice.  I am particularly interested in the Military Police MOS.

I do however have a problem in that I am slightly color vision deficient.

Am I correct in my understanding that a color vision deficiency does not completely preclude one from a Marine Corps commission, but it does limit the MOS availability?

If so, which jobs would I qualify for?

It should be said that my primary concern is the opportunity to become a Marine.  But I would also like to know what opportunities are going to be available to me in MOS selection.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Answer
Hi John

To the best of my knowledge the only MOS that you would not be qualified for would be a pilot. But to find out the complete answer your best bet is to contact your nearest OSO (Officer Selection Officer)...go to www.marineofficer.com and fill out the survey and someone will contact you within a few days, best of luck and semper fi.
