Question
I just went over 18 years of AFS (11 - Active Army, 7-ARNG).  Graduated from USMA in '91. Where is it stated that we get the 4 yrs of academy time tacked on to our AFS, once we hit a 20 year retirement?  I have done some research on the I-net, but not getting a clear answer.  Title 38 hits on it, but have not found the defining details, which specifies how it is applied to our service.  Thanks for your help.   MAJ H

Answer
Sir:
I dont think we get credit.. I have checked and looked and all of that and I think that 4 year tack-on is an urban myth. I've talked to personnelists and all other kinds including other USMA grads and noone else seems to think it exists either. I hope I'm wrong about that one.

Expertise

I am currently an active duty Army Captain in the Military Police Field. I have been enlisted (Military Intelligence) and attended The United States Military Academy at West Point. I can answer questions related to the Army, posting, jobs, lifestyle, workings... pretty much anything you can throw at me with the exception of very specific recruting or medical questions. I have no expertise in what it takes to get in the military other than the fact that I, myself, joined at one point in time.

Experience

I have experience in both deployed and garrision environments as a Military Police Officer.

Education/Credentials
Bachelor of Science in Arabic and French from United States Military Academy at West Point.
