Question
This is purely out of curiosity so dont worry if you cant answer it.
I was wondering, what is the highest rank in the Air Force that still flies planes? As in, is there a point where you would no longer fly a plane but be in charge of telling the pilots what to do?

Thanks :)

Answer
In most branches of service the majority of the flying is done by lieutenants, captains and majors. ranks above those still do fly, however due to their increased admistrative and planning demands and responsibilities they simply have less time to fly.
