Question
Hello,

Me and my fiance are in different branches of services, i'm in the Army and she's in the Navy.  Our wedding is planned for January, and we wanted to know was there a program established for couples in different branches.  Once we get married our goal is to get together and stay together, and I know in the Army they have the Married Army Couples Program in place, and I was wondering if there was anything for different branches.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Answer
I'm sure there is a similar program to the MACP in the Navy, but the problem is that it doesnt mean they will put one of you with the other all the time; especially if there is no job for the other there. Certain branch combinations are more difficult than others and the Army/Navy or Army/Marine Corps ones are very difficult to get people stationed together due to simple geographic distance between bases. There are very few Navy Bases near Army ones. I'm sure your respective services will take your marriage into consideration when generating your assignments but realize that it will still probably be a long distance thing.

Expertise

I am currently an active duty Army Captain in the Military Police Field. I have been enlisted (Military Intelligence) and attended The United States Military Academy at West Point. I can answer questions related to the Army, posting, jobs, lifestyle, workings... pretty much anything you can throw at me with the exception of very specific recruting or medical questions. I have no expertise in what it takes to get in the military other than the fact that I, myself, joined at one point in time.

Experience

I have experience in both deployed and garrision environments as a Military Police Officer.

Education/Credentials
Bachelor of Science in Arabic and French from United States Military Academy at West Point.
