Question
I am considering joining the Army as enlisted, and then applying to the OCS.
My girlfriend of many years has an MBA and might join the Army by applying directly to the OCS.
If I am not able to enter the OCS (in another question you answered, you seemed to compare the chances of 'enlisted->OCS' to winning the lotto), and if she successfully joins the Army as an officer, would this preclude marriage for us (in the next two years)? Would we have to break up altogether?
No. The military is never going to tell you that you have to get "unmarried".
She has an excellent chance of entering as an officer via OCS. For you to go from enlisted to OCS isn't very easy, but it can be done. Especially if you have a wife as an officer, she'll be able to help you get through the process. Eventually you'll both be officers, she'll just be slightly ahead of you. No harm in that, it happens all the time.
