Question
I was recently selected to the Army/Air Force PA program.  My question is : where can I go from there?  Can I go into medical school after that to become a full physician?  I know I am airforce now, but could I cross over to become a doctor in the Army and possibly see combat?

Answer
Dear Evan --

Once you complete your service obligation for your PA training, you can apply to go to the Uniformed Services University for the Health Sciences.  http://www.usuhs.mil/ You must meet their age, and service requirements.

If you wish, you can do an inter-service transfer from the Air Force into the Army, when you matriculate at USUHS.  However, you will have to receive your USUHS from the Army and the Air Force will have to release you.

There are also military scholarship programs to attend medical school.  Again you must meet their entry requirements.

Good luck to you.  Thank you for your service.
