Question
About 5 years ago I had been convicted of a class d felony, and served my time through probation and all that stuff.  I tried to get into the navy right around that time and was refused.  So I what the requirements were for the Army?  Is it possible for me to get into the army?  I am currently 29 and my last dui was 5 years ago.

Answer
You will need to talk to a recruiter on that one. Most felonies are immediate bars to enlistment and, honestly this one probably is too, but there are some circumstances in which you could get a 'moral waiver' depending on what you were convicted of. This is really a recruiting question and you need to be prepared to undergo a rigorous ordeal if you want to get in.

Expertise

I am currently an active duty Army Captain in the Military Police Field. I have been enlisted (Military Intelligence) and attended The United States Military Academy at West Point. I can answer questions related to the Army, posting, jobs, lifestyle, workings... pretty much anything you can throw at me with the exception of very specific recruting or medical questions. I have no expertise in what it takes to get in the military other than the fact that I, myself, joined at one point in time.

Experience

I have experience in both deployed and garrision environments as a Military Police Officer.

Education/Credentials
Bachelor of Science in Arabic and French from United States Military Academy at West Point.
