i went awol back in the day due to stupidity and home sickness. im missing my military lifestyle more and more as the days pass. i need to know what i got do to be eligible for reenlistment back into the army. do i have to contact the board of military records or what. my recruiters wont even try to help me. ill fly drive or boat anywhere i have to too get back in. if anyone has advice please e-mail me at

RE4 codes generally mean you can't get back in. If it was just for the AWOL that you were discharged you stand a very tiny chance of getting a moral waiver to get back in, but you have to have at least a General Under Honorable Conditions discharge. You would need the recruiter's help in order to get the waiver paperwork processed so if yours wont help you you'll need to find another one someplace that will. Good luck.
