Question
I am currently deployed right now.  I want to pcs when I return home but I will only have 1 year 9 months left in the army when I get home.  I have been told that I can extend to pcs, but if I am married to another soldier are they required to move one of us closer?

Answer
Generally PCSing requires 13-18 months TIS left in order to PCS. It depends on the duty station you're currently at and the one you're going to. The Army is never REQUIRED to move you anywhere, but they will do their best to move you to a location where you can be close with your spouse. It all depends on your spouse's service component and job. Your best bet is to talk to your branch manager about 6 months before you get back and ask what's available. They can give you options and you can figure out your best course of action based on what is actually available.

Expertise

I am currently an active duty Army Captain in the Military Police Field. I have been enlisted (Military Intelligence) and attended The United States Military Academy at West Point. I can answer questions related to the Army, posting, jobs, lifestyle, workings... pretty much anything you can throw at me with the exception of very specific recruting or medical questions. I have no expertise in what it takes to get in the military other than the fact that I, myself, joined at one point in time.

Experience

I have experience in both deployed and garrision environments as a Military Police Officer.

Education/Credentials
Bachelor of Science in Arabic and French from United States Military Academy at West Point.
