Question
I served in the navy for four years aboard the u.s.s. George washington cvn 73 and did two tours in the persian gulf and one in NY after sept. 11th.I am now enlisted in the army reserve with no deployments yet. My question is are there any navy combat patches authorized for wear on my uniform and if so what are they and what is the AR on that issue. If I'm not authrized so be it but if I am I am proud of what I have done so far. Thank you in advance for your response.

No patches can be worn form any other service unless awarded while in the army.  Since the Navy does not have combat patches, there is no equivalent.  You will see some former marines wearing theirs, but it is technically unauthorized.  If you were awarded a combat action ribbon, that is of course authorized to wear in Class A or any other appropriate uniform as well as ESWS or equivalent air or sub.

I am a National Guard recruiter , been doing it for seven years and am a subject matter expert on qualifications for National Guard and I keep up to date on Regular Army regs and programs. I was in the Navy for 4 years and have 13 years in the Guard. I will not sugar coat my answers to you. They are usually short and to the point. If you need more in depth, ask me. Because each situation is different, alot of times you need to actually talk to a recruiter and let them evaluate your situation in person, by looking at your documents, issues etc. If I suggest this, it would be in your best interest to do so.
