Question
Iv really been thinking about the airforce. Its ether this or state police and the outlook ain't to good for that. I'm a sophomore in collage and am thinking about transferring to the ROTC. I already talked with them and they want me to start next fall. What i would like to know is, what is it like to be an officer in the airforce. What is deployment like and the chances of that. Iv herd there is a very high divorce rate in the military. Is it like that in the airforce to. Iv been with same girl for years so i don't thing we'll be breaking up before i go if i do. All you can tell me about it and life in the airforce would be appreciated

Answer
Hi C.J.

The divorce rate in the US Military is about the same as it is for civilians -- around 50 percent.

Two articles on my website I recommend you read:

(1) Pro's/Cons of Joining the Air Force (at: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/airforcejoin/a/chooseaf.htm).

(2) US Military 101 (see: http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/generalinfo/a/military101.htm). Page 3 and 4 of this article goes into detail about the differences between enlisted and officers.

Hope this helps!
