Question
Hello, I am JC (short for Joshua Christopher) and I am 22, about to graduate college (December 2009) and so far have a 4.0 in aeronautical engineering.  And I also have some ROTC under my belt.  I want to join the military and fly either combat helicopters or fight jets.  However I am worried I may be too tall as I am 6'3" and around 200 lbs.  I have 20/20 vision, not colorblind and have great hearing and depth perception, but my question is what are the height & weight requirements to be a pilot in each branch for combat helicopters like the AH-64D, and the various fighter jets.  Thanx,

JC

Answer
You'd have to ask the Air Force about their requirements, but your height/weight isn't an issue for the Army's pilot program. If you're serious about flying for the Army they will give you a lot more details as to the airframe you'll be flying and so on during the flight training at Fort Rucker, Alabama. You'll have passed a flight physical prior to this ensuring everything is in order.

Expertise

I am currently an active duty Army Captain in the Military Police Field. I have been enlisted (Military Intelligence) and attended The United States Military Academy at West Point. I can answer questions related to the Army, posting, jobs, lifestyle, workings... pretty much anything you can throw at me with the exception of very specific recruting or medical questions. I have no expertise in what it takes to get in the military other than the fact that I, myself, joined at one point in time.

Experience

I have experience in both deployed and garrision environments as a Military Police Officer.

Education/Credentials
Bachelor of Science in Arabic and French from United States Military Academy at West Point.
