Question
My question is how difficult is it for a Naval Academy graduate to cross contract over to the Army? Also how is this done?
Hi Elisabeh,
If the person has already graduated and been commissioned into the Navy, it's nearly impossible.
If the person hasn't graduated yet, and is expected to graduate, it's possible, but not very easy. The process would involve completed a DD Form 368, "Conditional Release," which would release her from her Navy obligation, on condition that she receive a commission in the Army. An active duty Army officer accessions recruiter would be the one to see about starting the process.
