Question
Hello ,my son has been discharged for several counts of under age drinking /failure to rehabilitate. He is a combat engineer and has been provided excellent training certificates .He has qualified on 249 ,240 ,50 cal .mark 19 m4 m16 and the m9...he was expert on all.He also has license on the mrap buffalo 113 husky and humvee.
He loved the Army and never wanted to get out.He has an RE 3 and Jkk ....He is only 19 almost 20 and wants back in .He feels really shitty for messing up his life. The  quack they sent him to says he has ptsd although hes never seen combat and hes never ever been injured .He was on dty and never asked for time to be with his brother when his nephew died at birth .His friend he grew up with died two days later. He was 6 days out from selection at SFAS when he developed stress fractures in his legs.He had a bad week and made a bad choice to drink ,He got drunk and failed to up for pt 17 minutes late once and 19 minutes the next day. They moved him out too Separation unit and discharged him with a RE3 and the Jkk codes.Whats his chances of getting back in if he rehabs his legs and gets counseling for his drinking.?

Answer
This really is a question for an army recruiter. All the extraneous info about him never taking a day off and having several qualifications dont make up for the fact that he drank underage and then slept through his responsibilities. Chances are there are other factors that his chain of command knows about as well, thats how these things normally work. At least that would be my guess. Ask a recruiter, but be honest and candid.
