Question
Hi,

I was medically disqualified from the army national guard 2 weeks before I was to leave for basic. That was roughly 3 yrs ago. I was medically discharged for having a detached retina. I know that the likelyhood of a waiver isn't that high but I want more than anything to join the navy or army. Would I have a better chance of getting a waiver if I waited for oct 1 to come around or is this something I should just tell myself to move on from?"

Answer
Kyle,
More than likely your career in the military is not going to happen. I know that it is hard to swallow, but even if you had surgery for it the possibility of you joining is still slim to none. Due to the fact that it could cause you to harm to your eye. Im sorry but unfortunatly it seems that it won't happen.
