i just got out of active army in may 2009 and im going back in i just wanted to know if i would have to go to transition and if theres a good chance to get my same mos

Jon,
Since you've been out for less than a year you won't have to repeat any basic training or take the 10-day transition course.  You should also only have to lose one stripe maximum, no lower than E-3.

It all depends upon if you want to go back to your same MOS or not.  If you DO want to go back to the same MOS you may not lose a stripe because you won't have to be retrained.

If you want a different MOS you will, of course, have to be trained in that job, so they'll usually take one stripe as payment.
