Careers: Military--Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard/Morals Waiver

Question
I have a few questions about the morals waiver. I'm in the process of enlisting in the Air Force. I know that the waiver process is different from each branch. I currently need 2 waivers and I recently finished my semester and obtained 15 credit hours since i currently hold a GED. Now my recruiter seems eager to sign me up and get the waiver process in full gear. Funny because 6 months ago, he seemed like he was too busy. Anyways to keep my story short, On 1/1/10 I was arrested for assault with intent to do bodily harm a misdemeanor. I was at a club and a friend got into an argument with a waiter at the venue. I was trying to calm things down but the club was very crowded and i was escorted outside when the waiter came out and said i hit him. I was arrested, i was not questioned with the police. Now i have an appointment to go take my ASVAB test at MEPS in 2 weeks and court in 3 weeks. I still havn't told my recruiter what happened since im afraid he will drop me, i know either way that i cant enlist until my court is over. I been working super hard for almost 10 months to get everything in order for me to get my waivers and finish school to get 15 credits(I paid tuition with my own money), and bam this happened what a way to start the new year. I'm confident that the charge will be dismissed because i was wrongfully arrested. What should i do? Any information will be great. Also if my charge was dismissed without adverse adjudcation do i need a waiver? I'm so stressed because i worked so hard to get everything right, but it seems that i keep getting knocked down.

Answer
delay testing until after your court date.  If it gets dropped, them carry on.  If you are convicted, Then tell your recruiter and go from there.  Thats all you can really do at this point.

i agree with you that it should be dropped, just bring witnesses to say you didn't.

Expertise

I am a National Guard recruiter , been doing it for seven years and am a subject matter expert on qualifications for National Guard and I keep up to date on Regular Army regs and programs. I was in the Navy for 4 years and have 13 years in the Guard. I will not sugar coat my answers to you. They are usually short and to the point. If you need more in depth, ask me. Because each situation is different, alot of times you need to actually talk to a recruiter and let them evaluate your situation in person, by looking at your documents, issues etc. If I suggest this, it would be in your best interest to do so. Finally...thank you for your interest in serving this great nation of ours. Very few people can actually make the cut to serve let alone choose to do so. So thank you for wanting to and hopefully you will get a chance. Whatever branch you choose, thank you and good luck.
