Question
I am a 2nd mate license holder from India and holde eqivalent license of UK,recently i got US green card and i am looking forward to settel down in USA ,SO can i get eqivalent license from USCG or a job in USCG i am 33 yrs old with 8 yrs of sailing experience.

Congratulations on getting your green card and also on being a Second Mate. I imagine you have some great stories to tell about standing watch in the wee hours of the morning.
The age limit for the Coast Guard is 27. Sometimes they raise the age limit one year for each year of prior service. Hopefully they will count your 8 years as prior service. Also, the age limit for the Navy is 34, if you're interested in that.
Be advised though, the jobs you can do will be limited because of your citizenship status. A large percentage of jobs require you to be a citizen, some are even more restrictive requiring US citizenship by birth. This is because of the DoD requirements to hold a security clearance - and the clearances can only be issued to US citizens. Your local Coast Guard recruiter can help you out the most - he or she will be able to answer questions about your particular situation.
