Question
I graduated from boot camp, and got put on medical hold. The off-base doctor recommended I get a biopsy, and I opted to have my personal doctor treat me, so I was released.  Six months later, I had a CT scan done, and my doctor said no biopsy is required since they did not find anything abnormal.  When released I was given an RE-3E with 6-12 months to come back into the Navy, with the biopsy results, which my doctor wouldn't do.  Is this a waiverable condition?  I turned 35 three weeks into boot camp.  If not, would I need an age waiver for FTS?  Please help.

Answer
Rob,
A ReEntry Code of RE-3E means exactly: Failure to meet education prerequisites.  Fully qualified for enlistment provided education criteria is met.  Erroneous induction.

So somebody screwed up and let you in even though you didn't have the proper education, or you might've sneaked in.  Only you know for sure.

If you have since gained your diploma, or corrected whatever the problem was, you can get back in with a waiver.  Your recruiter can help you process the request for a waiver.

Since you didn't say which Service you were in, I can't say about your age.  If you were Army, no problem.  The others might be.  Check with your recruiter for certain.

Thanks for serving,
Colonel H
