Question
Hello sir,

I am a Army CPT RC AMEDD with a DOR of 17 NOV 06.  My MOS is 66H.  I was given a satisfactory rating on my first OER as a CPT.  The comments by my rater and senior rater were positive, and my senior rater marked the best qualified box.  On my second OER I was given an outstanding rating with no negative comments, but my senior rater marked the fully qualified block.  Since these two OERs, I have received two outstanding/best qualified ratings.  I am currently mobilized and will have two more OERs in my record before I will be in the promotion zone for MAJ.  How will the first two OERs affect me?  What do you think are my chances of being selected for promotion the first time around?

Answer
I think you still stand a pretty good chance of being picked up in your primary zone but, remember, that AMEDD has a different promotion criteria set than regular army.  We all compete against each other and for us your OERs would get us promoted.  I'm not completely sure what your criteria are, but I still think you'll be ok.

Expertise

I am currently an active duty Army Captain in the Military Police Field. I have been enlisted (Military Intelligence) and attended The United States Military Academy at West Point. I can answer questions related to the Army, posting, jobs, lifestyle, workings... pretty much anything you can throw at me with the exception of very specific recruting or medical questions. I have no expertise in what it takes to get in the military other than the fact that I, myself, joined at one point in time.

Experience

I have experience in both deployed and garrision environments as a Military Police Officer.

Education/Credentials
Bachelor of Science in Arabic and French from United States Military Academy at West Point.
