Question
My husband is currently deployed and has re enlisted. We received a bonus and we were able to change our duty station. My question is even though it is in his new contract what are the chances of it changing?

Answer
It all has to do with the wording on his contract, but changes from what is promised almost never happen.  Sometimes a career counselor gives a Soldier a choice in duty station and it doesnt make it into the re-enlistment contract; its just done on the fringe.  These can sometimes be changed due to lack of contractual obligation. If he re-enlisted and had the duty station of choice put into his contract the government is obligated to give it to him or let him out of his contract. Essentially, he will get what he asked for in return for re-enlistment. Hope that helps.

Expertise

I am currently an active duty Army Captain in the Military Police Field. I have been enlisted (Military Intelligence) and attended The United States Military Academy at West Point. I can answer questions related to the Army, posting, jobs, lifestyle, workings... pretty much anything you can throw at me with the exception of very specific recruting or medical questions. I have no expertise in what it takes to get in the military other than the fact that I, myself, joined at one point in time.

Experience

I have experience in both deployed and garrision environments as a Military Police Officer.

Education/Credentials
Bachelor of Science in Arabic and French from United States Military Academy at West Point.
