Question
I am a former Marine (94-02) I have a break in service before enlisting in the Army due to the Corps change in policy about tattoo's.  I am under going tattoo removal and want to go back to the Corps.  How can I go about doing a transfer.  I still have time on my current contract but can't stand the Army and miss my brothers in the Corps.  Andy help to get me started on a long road will be great

  Once you have the tat removed, you'll likely still need a waiver, but other than that you should be ok.  Start by talking to a Marine Corps recruiter.   Of course, if you are still AD Army, you'll have to wait until your contract is complete (the AD one) before you can do anything.  If you are in the Reserve/Guard, then you can at least check with the recruiter now, and go from there.  (As long as you had a reenlistment code of RE-1A, and you didn't get discharged BECAUSE of the tat).

Intelligence Specialist: MOS 0231 10 years working as an Intelligence Analyst with a Fixed Wing Fighter Squadron, Force Service Support Group, and at Headquarters, Marine Corps. Field Radio Operator: MOS 2531. Served as a Platoon Sergeant in a Communications Platoon assigned to MEU Service Support Group 24 (Special Operations Capable). Did a hitch in the Army reserves as an 11B (Infantryman), 3 years. Finished out my career in the Air National Guard as a BioEnvironmental Engineer MOS 4B3X1, did that for a few years. I"ve been collecting and selling Marine Corps and other military uniforms, medals, and field gear since I was 8 years old.
