Question
I am a high school junior.  I want to major in Japanese Language in College and would like to go ROTC.  What branch and which military fields would best to utilize my language skills/education?

Answer
Dear Marcia --

You qualify to be an officer in all the services, if you have a bachelors degree from an accredited university in any subject.

The Navy and the Air Force have a lot of positions in Japan, where you would be able to use your planned language skills.

All of the services have some need of Japanese language and culture skills in their military intelligence cells.  However those positions are limited.

Good luck with finishing high school and choosing a college.  Please write back, if you have additional questions.
