Question
I am currently a 11b in Iraq. Next march I go to ait for mp training. First I wanna know where are good places to get stationed at if your married or not? I am currently stationed in Fort Lewis Washington I wanna go somewhere like Germany or Japan. Would it be hard to get stationed in those places cause I get to pick my duty station by this January to know where I go after ait. I have heard all the mp's do is alot of details and paper work.

Answer
Military Police do far more than just paperwork and details, so whoever told you that is sadly misinformed. They do both field training as well as a real world garrison mission of policing our bases and housing areas. As a military policeman you can be assured of lots to do that varies depending on locale and rotation time. As far as stations go, you're in a pretty darned good one at Fort Lewis. If you're looking overseas both Japan and Germany are available for Military Police but Japan in very small numbers. There is an entire MP Brigade in Germany, so your chances for better assignments and such is higher there. I spent 4.5 years in Germany and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, but you may have different ideas. Please follow up to this and tell me more about what you look for in a duty station and I will try my best to give you better advice. Also let me know what rank you are. Thanks.

Expertise

I am currently an active duty Army Captain in the Military Police Field. I have been enlisted (Military Intelligence) and attended The United States Military Academy at West Point. I can answer questions related to the Army, posting, jobs, lifestyle, workings... pretty much anything you can throw at me with the exception of very specific recruting or medical questions. I have no expertise in what it takes to get in the military other than the fact that I, myself, joined at one point in time.

Experience

I have experience in both deployed and garrision environments as a Military Police Officer.

Education/Credentials
Bachelor of Science in Arabic and French from United States Military Academy at West Point.
