Question
my husband is active duty air force and we have two young children. I am wanting to join the air force as well, is this possible? would i have to sign over the kids until i graduated BMT?

Answer
Dear Shi --

You should not have to sign your children over to anyone during training since your active duty husband is not attending training at the same time.

You will have to have a family care plan, so that if you were in school and your husband received deployment orders, you would have someone willing and able to care for your children while you were both away from home.  You will have to maintain this family care plan as long as you are both in the service.

Good luck to you and your family.  Please tell your husband "Thank you for his service" for me.
