Careers: Military--Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard/Color Blind

Question
I recently went to MEPS for the Air National Guard.  I got a 95 on my ASVAB and passed everything except the Color Vision Test.  I'm not color blind, I don't see everything in black and white, and I don't mix up red/green/brown or anything like that.  I've known that I'm not great with colors, but I can see them and I rarely have a problem.  I was just curious what kinds of jobs I can do in the Air Force, and if it's possible to get a waiver?  I had a ton of available jobs with my ASVAB score, but almost all of those jobs went down the drain because I failed the Color Vision Test.  I really want to join and I'm just looking for some answers.  Thanks in advance to your response

Answer
That color vision test is a bear. It surprises alot of folks who dont think that they are not color blind. I know that there is no waiver for the CVT. Once its determined that you have a color vision issue, then its pretty much set in stone. You might want to go see an optometrist and have your vision rechecked. If he comes up with a different answer, then you can have him write a letter stating the fact and that might get them to retest you.
