Question
I am a 26 year old air guard member(WI 115th fighter wing) I am almost done with my technical training as a 2A313B(F16 crew chief) I want to go officer but don't know how. I have an associates degree in Criminal Justice and 128 out of the 142 towards my Administration of Justice Bachelors. My base had no openings for security forces or I would have went that route. Like I said I am enlisted and want to go officer, I however want to be deployed and am hoping I would still get that opportunity as an officer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Answer
Once your upgrade training in your career field is complete, you can start taking the classes necessary to get your degree. Once you have finished that degree, apply to OTS. I know that the reserves and the guard have deployment opportunities, its mostly volunteer, so when the deployment arises.... just tell your supervisor that you are available to go.

I am very blunt and straight forward and will make no attempts to BS you. I will give you the best information that I possible can can. If you think that you cant handle the answer that I give you, then don't ask the question...... If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do. If I dont answer right away probably means that I am busy, but have patience, I will get to you.
