Question
hello,
I noticed that you had some experience in the navy and have a question that i cannot seem to get a direct and straightforward answer on, despite man the resources i have used. When i was 17, i was arrested because i was in a car with a friend who was pulled over with marijuana charges and the charges show up no where in the FBI records or anything, i also had a DWI/ MIP in January. The DWI was dismissed for lack of evidence. I know i screwed up really bad. For your sake i will not dwell on my guilt too much in this explination. I went up to MEPS a few days ago and it seems like i will be able to get into the navy, with waivers of course(i need to go back next week for a leg xray which should go through without a hitch). I took the asvab and was in the 93% in scoring. i have been lifting hard for months in hopes that i will even get a half a shot at this. My recruiter advised me to go into the fleet for two years and submit a package, and to have an awe-inspired PST when i am able to take it(also a good C-Sort...kind of out of my control). I tend to overanalysis things like this and am in a rather differed state of panic when i think about the situation. ANY advise would be helpful, and i realize at best i am facing an uphill battle. Thank you for your time.
Michael

Answer
What exactly are you asking me here?

Right now you are lucky even getting a chanve to join the Navy since they are so full and training dates are mionths away for anyone that joins.  Anyone at any time once in the Navy can apply for the Seal program and attempt to go thru selection.

Expertise

I am a National Guard recruiter , been doing it for seven years and am a subject matter expert on qualifications for National Guard and I keep up to date on Regular Army regs and programs. I was in the Navy for 4 years and have 13 years in the Guard. I will not sugar coat my answers to you. They are usually short and to the point. If you need more in depth, ask me. Because each situation is different, alot of times you need to actually talk to a recruiter and let them evaluate your situation in person, by looking at your documents, issues etc. If I suggest this, it would be in your best interest to do so. Finally...thank you for your interest in serving this great nation of ours. Very few people can actually make the cut to serve let alone choose to do so. So thank you for wanting to and hopefully you will get a chance. Whatever branch you choose, thank you and good luck.
