Question
Sir,

I'll be in my window to re-enlist in a month. Right now I am an 88m and I am looking to reclass. I'm interesting in becoming a 68t but I know the seating in AIT is limited. What would be my chances of getting into that MOS %26 also what could be my chances of working with the Marine Animals in San Diego?

Samantha

Answer
Samantha,
I don't blame you wanting to get out of 88M.  Driving can sometimes be exciting (especially in Iraq# but most of the time it's routine boredom.  It takes a special person to enjoy 88M.

Unless you have a degree in animal care or some sort of training its going to be hard to get into 68T.  Do you meet the requirements of 68T?...Physical Profile 222221, and ASVAB Score of 95 in aptitude area ST.  If you do, give it a shot.  What can you lose?

As for the Marine Mammal Program #NMMP#, it's all Navy last I heard.  They have civilian college students majoring in Marine Science, Biology, and Zoology who perform internships, but otherwise its Navy Officers, such as licensed veterinarians.  For more info about the NMMP, you can contact the SSC Pacific Public Affairs Office at: #619) 553-2717.

I wish you well in whatever you choose, and thanks for serving.
Colonel H
