Question
join the air force when i was 18 and right out of high school and i never been away from my family. I had some problems when i was a teen and i learned how to cut myself from a friend. though i only tried it twice. it was more like to get attention from the parents. Never been suicidal. never wanted to die. i got out of the airforce before completing basic training with an reenlistiment code of 2c. I am now 24 and i am now mentally ready to rejoin in the army. I have a 2 year old daughter and i think the military is one of the only ways i can provide for her while serving my country. Can i still reenlist. Or would i be disqualified. Never been on any depression medications, never been hosptialized. The psychatrist told me i was fine.

Answer
You can never join the air force, if you are married you could try other active branches, but thwey wont take single parents.  You could try the Guard or reserves, the recruiter canhelp you thru the issues at MEPs, and there will be with this type of discharge.

Expertise

I am a National Guard recruiter , been doing it for seven years and am a subject matter expert on qualifications for National Guard and I keep up to date on Regular Army regs and programs. I was in the Navy for 4 years and have 13 years in the Guard. I will not sugar coat my answers to you. They are usually short and to the point. If you need more in depth, ask me. Because each situation is different, alot of times you need to actually talk to a recruiter and let them evaluate your situation in person, by looking at your documents, issues etc. If I suggest this, it would be in your best interest to do so. Finally...thank you for your interest in serving this great nation of ours. Very few people can actually make the cut to serve let alone choose to do so. So thank you for wanting to and hopefully you will get a chance. Whatever branch you choose, thank you and good luck.
