Hi sir my name is David I'm 17 years old I'm Going to be a senior in highschool and enlisted to the army reserves but I didn't ship out to basic training and the reason why was because I want to join the marine corps iv talked to my comander and she told me I'm going to get an uncharecterize disharge for not shiping to basic training and she told me that I can re enlist to the marine corps 6 months after I get my discharge is it true I need to know please?

While technically your commander is correct, but the key thing missing is you are eligible to try to enlist in the USMC in six months, but the USMC may not want you becuse you could not fulfill a commitment that you signed up for.  They are really big on following thru with commitment.
They may take you, they may not.  A recruiter may tell you one thing now, but in recruiting, things change all the time.

I am a National Guard recruiter , been doing it for seven years and am a subject matter expert on qualifications for National Guard and I keep up to date on Regular Army regs and programs. I was in the Navy for 4 years and have 13 years in the Guard. I will not sugar coat my answers to you. They are usually short and to the point. If you need more in depth, ask me. Because each situation is different, alot of times you need to actually talk to a recruiter and let them evaluate your situation in person, by looking at your documents, issues etc. If I suggest this, it would be in your best interest to do so. Finally...thank you for your interest in serving this great nation of ours. Very few people can actually make the cut to serve let alone choose to do so.
