Question
I am a six year vet of the Army. I have been out of the military for 10 years. I am wanting to re-join in the Texas Active Army National Guard. My MOS was 92G. Since I have been a civilian I have received a certificate in office management, and legal administrative assistant. I am currently in school for my BA in Criminal Justice. I wanted to know if there are jobs open for Administrative Support, will I still have to go back to AIT to re-train in that field? What are the chances I can go back in as on the job training? Thanks

Answer
The short answer is I don't know.  Now for the longer one: Every state's National Guard operates slightly differently so the best thing to do is take all of your certifications and transcripts with you to visit a National Guard recruiter.  They will be able to discuss more intelligently the job openings that they have within the state of Texas and what grades/training they require in order to fill those jobs.

Expertise

I am currently an active duty Army Captain in the Military Police Field. I have been enlisted (Military Intelligence) and attended The United States Military Academy at West Point. I can answer questions related to the Army, posting, jobs, lifestyle, workings... pretty much anything you can throw at me with the exception of very specific recruting or medical questions. I have no expertise in what it takes to get in the military other than the fact that I, myself, joined at one point in time.

Experience

I have experience in both deployed and garrision environments as a Military Police Officer.

Education/Credentials
Bachelor of Science in Arabic and French from United States Military Academy at West Point.
