I listed into the USMC after trying for a year or so an I was so happy an sad after finally joining I went in with mix thoughts. I had never been away from my family an not being able to say goodbye to anyone before leaving broke my heart an I cried two weeks straight. An thinking about my family I couldn't stay away from them any longer so I asked to go home an I was giving a COG discharge. Now having my own family I am looking for a career an I am truly thinking about going for it again head on so my question is can I reinlist after this kind of discharge?
No, you would need multiple waivers to re-enlist at this time, and in my opinion, they would be difficult to obtain. They would be based on your reenlistment code and discharge, so while possible it's going to be a long uphill climb. Talk to a recruiter and see what they say but expect a long wait at the minimum, IF you are even approved.
