| Comment | John, I appreciate your quick and to the point response...about not disclosing the HPV or chlamydia to the recruiter or medical staff, I have a bit of a probem..back in 2006, I tried to join both the army and air force reserve and did disclose to them, would it be possible for the national guard to find that info? I don't have a problem not disclosing, but don't want to get kicked out for a fraudulent enlistment either, or not be able to get in if they think I've lied to them.. As far as the debt is concerned, do I need to disclose that info if going into a field other than intel? I'm not in Virginia, I'm in Texas but I appreciate the offer..thinking about doing the SMP option with ROTC starting in Fall 2011, when I start pursuing my second degree..I did contact an ROTC rep at the school I want to go to, and they said due to my previous experience they would waive the first two years of ROTC and if I'm able to graduate before age 34, that they could sign the age waiver, but what I'm a bit confused on is I did tell them that I already have a bachelor's degree in Information Technology Management,( I know a few years back you were not allowed to do ROTC if you already have a degree)If joining SMP, does that make it okay that I already have a degree, and yes I'm aware of the OCS option, but I would prefer to do the ROTC option...in addition, I was told, I would have to do 4 semesters of ROTC, which is 2 years..so my question with that is when I join the national guard how long should I sign up for, I had planned on 4 initially, to get a bonus, since I've already used 48 months worth of CH.33 and CH. 30, but if I join for 4 with the national guard, I don't see how I could do 2 years with the national guard and ROTC and then commission with Active Army after ROTC is complete...If I joined for 4 with the national guard and completed ROTC in 2, would they then release me from the National Guard into Active Army? again, thanks for your help | ||

I am a National Guard recruiter , been doing it for seven years and am a subject matter expert on qualifications for National Guard and I keep up to date on Regular Army regs and programs. I was in the Navy for 4 years and have 13 years in the Guard. I will not sugar coat my answers to you. They are usually short and to the point. If you need more in depth, ask me. Because each situation is different, alot of times you need to actually talk to a recruiter and let them evaluate your situation in person, by looking at your documents, issues etc. If I suggest this, it would be in your best interest to do so. Finally...thank you for your interest in serving this great nation of ours. Very few people can actually make the cut to serve let alone choose to do so. So thank you for wanting to and hopefully you will get a chance. Whatever branch you choose, thank you and good luck.
