Question
Hello,
My name is Hector Rivera and I have a Question? When i was 18 I got a felony reckless conduct charge would that affect the chances of me joining the army. I am now 22 turning 23 and want to join the army.I was young a dumb at the time and want to serve my country, I want to learn self discipline and actually become something in life. I have my highschool diploma and 1 1/2 year of college under my belt. I feel that i would be a great addition to the army, because I actually want to serve my country. I do not know if this would make a difference but i pleaded guilty abd participated in the academy program and took many different classes to better my self when i was younger and did not spend anytime in prison.

Answer
Hector,
Not a problem.  As long as you have no other offenses you'll be given a waiver.

By the way, don't ever say what the Army can do for you.  You need to always say what you can give to them!  "I want to serve my country" is a good line to use.

The Army knows what they'll teach you and what they can do for you.  They want to know what you'll give back to them if they take you.

See your recruiter and explain.
