Question
QUESTION: Hello I'm 20 years old. Over a year ago I was arrested in Florida for grand theft. Outcome was adjudication withheld. At the time I was planning on entering the air force in spec ops, air traffic control. Although, I know I will not be able to enter the air force now but I would like to know the possibilities of me receiving a waiver for any other options. So my question is: is there any way I could receive a waiver for navy, army, or marines.? I'm a good guy who made a huge mistake in my life. I understand the economy is forcing people to the military and the chance for a waiver is decreasing. Iv been trying for months and would like to hear any feedback possible. Thanks.

ANSWER: Tyler,
Who said you can't join the AF?  Try it and see.  When you get a waiver it's usually good for any Service.  The Army would be a safe bet for a waiver, as long as you don't have any other problems.

QUESTION: ive tried over and over and no one will even consider a waiver when i tell them my situation. i have nothing else, no otherproblems. even the army and af and marines tell me theres no way..do you think id have a better chance moving to another state and tryin, because i live in fl and they say no before i can ask.

Answer
Tyler,
You can try another state if you wish.  Visit a grandparent, aunt & uncle, friend, anybody that will let you receive mail at their address.  Once you're in you can change your address at Fla because of tax purposes.  It'll save you a lot of money as long as you're in the Service.
