Question
Does a person who was discharged after 30 days in boot camp (medical-severe acne) entitled to any type of VA Benefits? He considers himself a VET and believes he is entitled to these benefits. He refused to re-enlist after his acne clear because he didn't want to start all over with boot camp.

NOPE. He is no more a veteran than anyone else who DIDN'T SERVE. If he didn't earn the title 'Marine', he can't call himself THAT either, and if he does he's in violation of the Stolen Valor act. He's a 'training discharge' and doesn't rate benefits, VA medical, or anything else. 30 days of service does NOT make one a veteran by any law rule or definition, and he is NOT eligible to join any veteran organization.

Field Radio Operator: MOS 2531. Served as a Platoon Sergeant in a Communications Platoon assigned to MEU Service Support Group 24 (Special Operations Capable). Did a hitch in the Army reserves as an 11B (Infantryman), 3 years. Finished out my career in the Air National Guard as a BioEnvironmental Engineer MOS 4B3X1, did that for a few years.
I"ve been collecting and selling Marine Corps and other military uniforms, medals, and field gear since I was 8 years old.
