I have looked high and low for an answer to these questions, but it seems like I'm the only one asking!

As we all know, effective 1 June, 2011 the Retention Control Points have shifted.

My questions are as follows:
Those of us who are currently on active duty, that are either promotable or non-promotable, that are being allowed to complete our term of service according to our contract established prior to 1 June, 2011, but are not allowed to continue service due to the RCP change; first, are we even considered "separated" since the army is allowing us to complete the term of enlistment and ETS?  Secondly, if we are in fact considered "separated," will we actually receive separation pay upon ETS?

Answer
You will be considered separated once you actually leave military service.  Looking at the ALARACT and talking to my S1 has brought me to the conclusion that, upon separation, you probably won't be entitled to any kind of severance pay.  That's for those people who are either being medically boarded out or who have retired.
