Question
Here is the situation, my girlfriend and I have been together for a while now. She just got done with tech school is active duty and is leaving to go to her first duty station on Friday, January 13th. She will be going to Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, Texas. I have been in for almost 2 years now. I am Air National Guard, and my home base is at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi. I was wondering what options we might have. Her job is Aircrew Flight Equipment (1P0X1 AFSC). Do you know if Keesler has that job or how I can find out if they do? If they do, what would she have to do in order to get to Keesler? Also,if we were to get married would they automatically move her to a base near me? I'm not sure if that will work because I am National Guard, and she is active. What options do we have?

Answer
Tyler,
Congratulations on your pending marriage.  The AF will do their best to keep you guys together as long as you're married.  Even though you have the rank and time in service, they always move the Guard person to be with the active duty person.  Keesler has only a few of her AFSC's because they are a training base.  Your best bet is to look at what flying bases have your AFSC so you can join her.
