Question
My husband (39 years old) is active duty (Rank E-6/Army). He is applying for OCS (BS completed in 2003). I would like to know if his age is impediment to be accepted in the officer school.
Thank you

Answer
Dear Claudia --

In the current environment, your husband's age will not restrict his chances for OCS.  The maximum ages for many positions have been increased.  However, he should keep in mind that he will be going to class with people 20 years younger than he is.  If he is fit, that will not be a problem, and his experience will far outweigh their "energy" in most challenge situations.

Please wish him the best of luck from me, and let him know I would be happy to provide any insight I can to the challenges he will face when he attends OCS.

Have a wonderful holiday season.
