Question
Hi. I'm very interested in joining the Army reserves. I'm in good shape but my current age is 32 years old. Is this too old to join? I currently work in the medical field as a registered nurse and have some experience with triaging and caring for injuries. Any info you could give would be great. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Joseph,

It's most certainly not too old to joing the Army Reserves.

If you decide to join as an enlisted member, the maximum age for enlistment is age 42 (see: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/joiningthemilitary/a/enlstandards.htm).

Assuming you have a bachelor's degree in nursing, the maxim age of commission for an Army Nurse is age 47.

So, no, you're not too old at age 32 for Army nursing.
