Question
What happens after basic training in the Coast Guard? Will my husband get to come home? Then where will he go? Do I and our children get to come along?
Jennie,
Most service send the BMT graduates directly to Training for their career field. After that they will get to come back to where they enlisted and get ready to move the family. This takes some time. If the training is over 6 months, then he should be able to take the family with to the training site, but that will be decided by the amoount of training and its lengh.

All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do.
