Question
Could you please tell me what the "SFK" code is.  I was recently placed on TDRL and had a reenlistment bonus the military is trying to recoup.  Can they take back my bonus?

Answer
Hi David,

The Code "SFK" simply means "Placed on Temporary Disabled Retirement List." (see: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/lifeafterthemilitary/l/blcode_2_2.htm

They should not be trying to recoup your enlistment or reenlistment bonus if your removal from active duty was due to no fault of your own (for example, for medical reasons).

In fact, the American Forces Press Service (the official Department of Defense news site) just published an article about this on the 29th of November.

See: http://www.defenselink.mil/news/newsarticle.aspx?id=48269 for details.
