QuestionHello, I'm a service member trying to call a DSN line in Korea. I read one of your answers stating I can't call DSN from landline phone. So, what's another way to call? Can you please help me?
AnswerDear Lashawndra --
You can call DSN from another DSN phone. That is likely a landline, but a landline that connects to two switching systems, one our public phone system and the other the defense only system.
If you have access to a military base, you should be able to use a DSN phone at the base. If you do not have access to a DSN phone, and you are calling either on official business, or for a morale support call, you can call an on base operator give them the DSN number you are trying to call, and they will link your call to the DSN system.
You can call information at your nearest military facility and ask them for the the DSN switching operator number (business calls) or the Morale Support 800 number for R&R calls.
Good luck to you.
